Ukraine“s State Property Fund has decided to place the controlling interest (50% plus one share) in Crimea Soda Plant in state ownership for three years. The share package was placed in state hands to preserve the company profile and give the state the opportunity to influence its activity, Svetlana Ledomskaya, deputy chairman of the State Property Fund, said. Crimea Soda Plant holds a monopoly in Ukraine on the production of heavy soda ( A brand) and is the biggest of Ukraine“s three producers of soda ash. The company produces more than 80% of Ukraine“s soda ash, and was placed on the list of strategic enterprises in 2000.
