Corning Inc. has unveiled its HPFS photomask substrate for use in making computer chips. The optical fibre and photonic components maker said the photomask substrates, made from ultra-pure glass, are used by integrated chip manufacturers to transfer detailed circuit patterns onto silicon wafers. New York Stock Exchange-listed shares of Corning recently traded at 79 5/8, up 1 or 1.3%, on composite volume of 1.1 million shares. Average daily volume is 825,604 shares.
