Students and artists with all levels of expertise will find glassmaking courses to suit their needs at The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass in autumn and winter 2009. In autumn, students can take weekend or evening classes. During the winter, one-week intensives offer the opportunity to study a technique or project deeper. The Studio“s state-of-the-art facilities put all the tools and materials close at hand, and the small class sizes allow instructors to offer personalized attention. In addition, a class at The Studio allows students to augment their hands-on experience with research in the Rakow Research Library (the library of record on glass and glassmaking) and exploration of the Museum“s collection of glass (the world“s largest, from ancient to contemporary). Registration for classes can be made in person or by mail, fax, or telephone. An application can be obtained from the Museum“s website, at www.cmog.org/thestudio.
