Corning Incorporated has reported that its Gorilla Glass has been designed into Acer“s ICONIA tablet computer, which is equipped with the versatility of a 14-inch form factor with a unique dual-screen layout and highly spontaneous all-point touch functionality. The ultra-thin Gorilla Glass works as a cover glass for the ICONIA tablet“s dual multi-touch displays, also including a full range of intuitive and easy-to-use features designed to fully utilize the devices“ multi-touch technology. Corning“s current month market trading activity have remained positive as the volume gained positive points of growth compared to the December 2010 results. Focussing on diversified business, the company effectively gathered investors“ attention and volume rose to 13.77 million shares on 3 January from the 2010 closing of 4.76 million shares. Corning is a technology-based corporation that operates in five reportable business segments: Display Technologies, Telecommunications, Environmental Technologies, Specialty Materials and Life Sciences. Corning manufactures and processes products at approximately 60 plants in 13 countries. Its subsidiaries include Corning Cable Systems LLC, Corning Cable Systems Polska Sp. Z o.o, Axygen BioScience, Inc and Corsam Technologies LLC. In September 2009, Corning acquired Axygen BioScience, Inc., and Plaslab S.A.S. in October 2010.
