Corning Inc. will invest a further USD 500 million to widen its presence on the Chinese market in the fields of optical fiber and optical cable, LCD technology and auto environment protection, said Clark S. Kinlin, CEO of Corning China. He was speaking at a ceremony held recently in Shanghai to mark the setting-up of Corning China“s headquarters and Asian Financial center. The transfer of the Corning Greater China headquarters from Hong Kong to Shanghai is aimed at building up an integrated and efficient platform for operation and management, Kinlin said. The company also plans to set up a new glass production base on the Chinese mainland.
