The CGS is pleased to announce the first meeting of a new initiative – the UK Glass Forum – which will meet for the first time at the Royal College of Art, London, UK, on Saturday 13 March 2010. The Forum is an opportunity for organizations, educational institutions, galleries and representatives of contemporary glass in the UK to gather as a “think-tank“. The aim of the Forum is to share and develop common goals, to increase the national profile of contemporary glass, and to enable the building of strategic alliances to create new avenues of interest and development. The day will also include short talks by Rosy Greenlees from the Crafts Council and Angel Monzon of Vessel Gallery. The event is free to attend but those who wish to take part are requested to inform the organizers by 1 March 2010.
