The 63rd Conference on Glass Problems will be held 22 and 23 October 2002 at the Fawcett Center for Tomorrow, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, US. Sessions will be held on simulation, processing, refractories and furnace life extension, with topics ranging from TV-panel production, glass melting, furnaces and furnace modelling, tank designs and construction, as well as the application of model-based predictive control on glass furnaces, review of validation of furnace modelling, state-of-the-art in glass melt tank designs and constructions. Other topics will discuss efforts to advance glass melting practices, glass sensors, batch blankets, recycling technologies, evolution of the dog house, and next-generation oxygen/fuel burners and blisters. Raw materials sampling, refractories, furnace life extension, coatings, casting, and the extension of furnace life will also be subject of discussion.
