Brazilian glass packaging manufacturer Companhia Industrial de Vidros (CIV) expects to register year-on-year sales growth of 15% in 2004. The company is launching a 700 ml bottle exclusively for export liquors. The new bottle was presented at an exhibition of cachaca, a traditional Brazilian sugar cane alcoholic beverage, from 4 to 7 November 2004 in Recife, northern Brazil. During the fair, which was expected to attract about 80 Brazilian exhibitors, CIV exhibited its new products for cachaca and a complete line of bottles for alcoholic drinks, including vodka, vermouth and wine. CIV is one of Brazil“s three largest glass packaging makers. It has eight furnaces in Recife, Fortaleza and Salvador, and produces packaging for foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals, as well as tableware. It generated a revenue of BRL 200 million (USD 70.1 million/EUR 55.3 million) in 2003.
