11 December 1997: In China, Shenzhen International Holdings (SIH) has said it intends to resume talks on the acquisition of a 16.02% stake in China Southern Glass Holdings from China Merchants Holdings International. SIH“s chief executive director Liu Zhihe said that the company had not ended the deal despite a recent announcement according to which the deal had lapsed because SIH had failed to despatch an acquisition document to obtain shareholder approval.
