The Canadian anti-dumping lawsuits against Chinese suppliers Shenzhen Benxun Automobile Glass Co., Xinyi Automobile Glass Co., and two other Chinese companies, was decided in favour of the Chinese companies. The claim was that Shenzhen and Xinyi and the other companies exported automobile windshield glass to Canada at artificially low prices. After the case was heard, the Canadian General Administration of Customs ruled that the average tax rate imposed towards the export products of these companies in Canada is zero. The case began on 18 December 2001, when Canadian PPG Co. accused two of the Chinese companies of dumping automobile glass in Canada, injuring the Canadian industry. Shenzhen Xinyi Co. and Shenzhen Benxun Co. are the largest of the four Chinese windshield exporters, accounting for more than 90% of the Chinese industry.
