China investigates optical fiber dumping allegations

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said 1 July 2003 it will look into claims that imported optical fibers from Japan, South Korea and the United States are being sold at less than fair value in China.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said 1 July 2003 it will look into claims that imported optical fibers from Japan, South Korea and the United States are being sold at less than fair value in China. The investigation will be carried out over a year with the possibility of a six month extension if necessary. The dumping investigation, which comes at a time when China“s optical fiber demand is growing rapidly, has been launched in response to requests made by Chinese companies in May 2003.
