22 January 1998: The UK group STT Projects Ltd., an independent design, equipment supply and project management company dedicated to the lamp industry, was recently invited to present a seminar to delegates of the China Green Lights Program in Beijing on the subject of energy-efficient lamp manufacture. The China Green Lights Program has launched a series of training workshops, where speakers from around the world have been invited to present seminars on key issues relating to energy-efficiency awareness and manufacturing procedures. Along with internationally recognised organisations, such as the International Institute for Energy Conservation and the International Association for Energy-Efficient Lighting, the China Green Lights Program also solicited STT Projects“ experience in the design and supply of lamp making machinery and lamp production. Around 50 delegates from China“s leading lamp factories and lighting associations attended the 3 day seminar held in Beijing in December 1997. An internationally recognised expert in the field of process technology and quality control systems, Dr Horton of STT Projects, presented a series of papers discussing energy-efficient lamp manufacture, with particular emphasis on process control and quality management, using references to practical experiences of Western manufacturing techniques. Further seminars are being planned so that the practical experiences of STT Projects and other experts may be adopted by the lamp factories throughout China.
