On 16 April this year, The US International Trade Commission (ITC) decided to continue a dumping investigation into imports of automotive replacement glass windshields from China. With a 6-0 vote, the ITC ruled there is a “reasonable indication” that seven US windshield producers are financially injured by competition from unfairly priced Chinese glass windshields. As a result of the ITC decision, the US Department of Commerce will continue its investigation into whether Chinese firms are actually guilty of dumping or selling their products at prices either below costs or domestic levels. A preliminary decision is due out from the Commerce Department around 7 August.
