Eighty percent of the Chinese-made beer bottles examined in a recent quality survey met official standards, according to figures released by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The Administration inspected 55 beer bottles from the same number of companies in 21 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Tianjin and Shanghai Municipalities, Hebei, Shanxi and Guangxi Provinces. Of the total, 44 bottles or 80% of the total sample were up to standard. Of the 11 products that did not meet standards, 10 failed because of low resistance to impact.
