CertainTeed has appointed Cindy Johnson Service Center Manager for the corporation“s Insulation Group service centre in Portland, Oregon. The 125,000 sq. ft. facility is under construction on North Lombard in Portland. In her new position, Johnson will be responsible for setting up the centre, hiring personnel and developing operating procedures and policies. CertainTeed Corporation manufactures building materials (insulation, roofing, vinyl siding and windows, and ventilation products and piping products) and fibre glass products for reinforcing plastics and other materials. The company“s headquarters are in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania and, with approximately 7,000 employees, it has over 40 manufacturing facilities throughout North America. CertainTeed is a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain (France) which had sales of US$ 19.8 billion in 1998.
