Japan-based Central Glass Co. Ltd. has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement for the proposed purchase of certain assets owned by Zeledyne LLC. These assets include Zeledyne“s Nashville, Tennessee, plant, which manufactures auto glass for both the OE and aftermarket segments; the Carlite aftermarket replacement glass business, according to a statement from Central Glass. According to the announcement, the two companies expect the sale to close early this year. Zeledyne, which previously also produced architectural float glass, left the commercial glass business in January 2010. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
