Flat glassmaker Cebrace, a joint venture of Saint-Gobain and NSG/Pilkington, is said to have completed investments of EUR 60 million to revamp and expand a furnace at Jacarei (So Paulo) from 600 to 920 million tons per day, the largest of its kind in the Americas. Thanks to the project, Cebrace will be able to increase capacity to 1,500 million tons per day of glass in Jacarei, while another two plants in Cacapava (So Paulo) and Barra Velha (Espirito Santo) will run at a capacity of 600 million tons per day. Cebrace manufactures glass for the construction, decorative and automotive industries.
