26 November 1998: According to a recent press report, Dr. Olaf Berlien and Dr. Dieter Kurz have been appointed board members at Germany“s Carl Zeiss with effect from 1 January 1999. Berlien, hitherto head of the industrial measuring technology division, will in future be in charge of commercial activities. Kurz takes on responsibility for the technology division.
