The US window glass firm Cardinal IG plans to begin construction in May of a US$ 8 million, 11,000-square-metre plant in Fremont, Indiana, US, beginning production by the end of the year. The plant will turn out window glass for residential window makers. Cardinal, headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota, US, makes glass for window makers at 12 plants in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington and Georgia, with US$ 250 million in sales. Cardinal expects to employ 70 people by the end of 1997 and 100 by spring 1998. Peak employment could go as high as 200, the company claims.
