The Italian glassware producer Calp has reported 1996 net profits of L 15.6 billion, down 6.7% on the previous year. Turnover rose 3.1% to L 158 billion. The Calp board is to propose a dividend of L 300 per share. The company has said it expects 1997 volumes to remain steady. In 1996, domestic sales fell 18.7% while exports, which account for about two-thirds of total sales, rose 22.4%.
