29 July 1999: BSN Financing, a branch of Danone“s glass bottling unit BSN Emballage, plans to issue Euros 180 million of bonds soon, according to bankers. Proceeds from the offering will refinance the recent purchase by Britain“s CVC Capital Partners of controlling stake in the unit. Salomon Smith Barney and SG Cowen will price the bonds to yield 9.75-10%, bankers said. The bonds are expected to carry a 10-year maturity and contain a call option after five years. The European Commission cleared CVC“s purchase of a controlling stake in BSN Emballage on 6 July.
