The Bor Glass Works in Russia“s Nizhni Novgorod region plans to invest over EUR 16 million to develop a new triplex glass line in 2005/2006. A construction site is already being prepared for the new line, which will have an annual capacity of about one million square meters of auto glass. The company will use its own funds, including the RUR 1.113 billion net profit from 2004. Bor Glass Works is part of Belgium“s Glaverbel, itself part of Japan“s Asahi Glass Company. In January 2005, it was announced that Glaverbel raised its participation in the Bor Glass Works from 44% to 83%.
