The Bor Glass Plant (Nizhny Novgorod, 400 km east of Moscow) is in line to supply side windows for a new car by Renault. The French vehicle manufacturer unveiled its new Logan model on 2 July 2004. The low price saloon is designed for sale in emerging markets and will incorporate components already used in other models. On 9 July 2004, the Bor Glass Plant was linked with the Renault Logan in a statement by France“s Foreign Trade Minister Francois Loos following his meeting with Nizhniy Novgorod Administration officials. A Renault representative said that Avtoframos has already signed a contract with the Bor Glass Plant to produce side windows for the Logan. He stressed, however, that this is only a preliminary arrangement, adding that the final details of the contract have yet to be decided. A final decision is expected shortly.
