Bohemia Crystalex Trading (BCT) sold Kcs 4.5 billion worth of glass to foreign markets last year, which was 40% more than in 1998 when BCT“s sales totalled Kcs 3.2 billion, said BCT CFO Jiri Klima. This year the company plans to export glass worth Kcs 5.2 billion, Klima added. “In four years of our existence we“ve managed to raise sales revenues more than ten times,” Klima pointed out. At present, BCT exports glass to 80 countries, including Germany (15 pct of sales), the USA, Japan, Western Europe, Great Britain, Australia, Canada and Russia. Machine-processed production covers 70% of the exports, hand-made glass accounts for the rest. BCT is 100-% owned by Porcela Plus, which holds the majority stake in Crystalex. BCT has 200 staff and at the end of 1999 it hiked its share capital by Kcs 230 million to Kcs 293 million. BCT is an exclusive exporter of the output of glass works Crystalex Novy Bor, Sklo Bohemia Svetla nad Sazavou, Sklarny Kavalier and Sklarny Bohemia Podebrady. The company was established in the middle of 1996 as Crystalex“s export organization.
