British industrial gases company BOC Gases invited companies in the Chicago, US area to a daylong seminar on August 21 this year to learn how they can reduce purchasing and ownership costs, keep better track of their operations and ensure consistent supply through state-of-the art e-Business technology. Several noted e-Business experts spoke at the event, including Joe Haugsland, an IBM business unit executive for the company“s central region, and Fulton Wilcox, BOC“s director of technology business development. Topics covered at the event ranged from a look at what e-Business models work and why, to the processes and best practices of change management, to how e-Business helps reengineer the supply chain. BOC, widely recognized as a leader in e-Business and a charter member of the Open Buying on the Internet (OBI) consortium, is trying to make life easier for its customers.
