Matrikon Inc.“s Matrikon International Inc. unit has received a contract from BOC Group plc for a complete control and information systems technology product. In a news release, Matrikon said the “multi-faceted solution includes process data acquisition, control system performance analysis, process monitoring and advanced control technology components.” The project is said to be in line with Matrikon“s role as complete technology provider, with total offering encompassing control and information system products and services ranging from data connectivity to advanced process control and web-based technology implementation. Implementation includes Matrikon“s ProcessNet as the information delivery platform, ProcessDoctor for online performance monitoring and diagnosis of control systems and OPC technology to collect and store data from multiple systems. Initial deployment will be piloted at two facilities, and upon successful completion, will be extended to include additional BOC air separation and hydrogen plants worldwide. The value of the contract wasn“t disclosed. Total implementation is expected to take two years. BOC Group is a worldwide industrial gases, vacuum technologies and distribution services company. Matrikon supplies industrial IT products, specializing in Web-based products and optimization products that deliver agility to the manufacturing industries through increased operating efficiency and profitability.
