BOC Group recently signed a A$ 33 million technology deal with Fujitsu Australia. The Australian arm of the British industrial products group has awarded Fujitsu a five-year contract to supply information technology (IT). There are indications that the Australian contract will be extended to BOC“s worldwide operations. Fujitsu won the contract against competition from BOC“s present IT supplier, Hewlett-Packard, as well as EDS and Compaq. The contract involves the delivery of software by German group, SAP, to personal computers via the Internet. Fujitsu will manage the implementation of Citrix System“s “thin platform“.
