Bisazza, the Italian producer of glass mosaics for walls and floors has closed the first five months of 2005 with consolidated turnover up 13% year-on-year to EUR 40.3 million. The positive trend in the Italian market was confirmed by the 15% rise in sales to EUR 14.98 million for the year to end-May 2005 from EUR 13 million for the prior-year period. The firm“s foreign subsidiaries performed even better, with an 18% rise in sales to EUR 17.6 million. For the full year 2004, Bisazza posted a consolidated turnover of EUR 87.7 million, up 23.11% on 2003, while EBIT rose 77% to EUR 14 million. The results have repaid the strategy pursued by managing director Piero Bisazza of strengthening the brand, expanding distribution and product innovation. In line with this approach, the firm has inaugurated a new commercial subsidiary in Shanghai and is soon to open showrooms in London and Paris.
