25 June 1998: The Italian mosaic glass tile producer Bisazza is hoping to boost its consolidated turnover to ItL 100 billion (around US$ 57 million) within the next three years. 1997 turnover totalled ItL 63 billion (US$ 36 million). For its production of tiles used especially in mosaic pattern walls and decorations, the company now has three plants in Italy, one in India (linked by telemetry to the company“s plant near Vicenza, Italy) and one in Argentina, as well as branches in countries like the Philippines and Russia. As a change from the more usual architectural applications of Bisazza“s output, the company provided the sparkling glass tiles to cover the two giant statues used at this year“s Oscar film industry awards ceremony in Hollywood, US.
