Thailand“s Berli Jucker is investing 400 million baht to increase production at Thai Glassware Industry, according to a recent report. Thai Glassware Industry is owned 99% by Berli Jucker. The company produces about 1,650 tonnes of glassware a day, mostly bottles. The company has the largest share in the Thai bottle-making market, the report said. Berli Jucker is investing another 400 million baht in Thai Glassware Industry to raise the production capacity by 36,000 tonnes a year. The report added that because the demand for bottles in the beverage industry is rising, Berli Jucker is considering investing about two billion baht to build a fourth glassware plant with a production capacity of 150,000 tonnes a year. The feasibility study on the project should be completed by the end of the year.
