Beatson Clark“s speciality glass manufacturing facility in Edenbridge, UK, (Lewis and Tower) has invested GBP 170,000 in new machinery and upgrading existing and inspection facilities. The plant provides glass containers in every conceivable shape and size, from traditional ale casks to innovatively designed modern liqueur bottles and regularly supplies overseas markets. “Beatson Clark is committed to providing its customers with the latest in bottle innovation and therefore requires the latest technology to do that,” explains John Wainwright, technical director at Beatson Clark. “We have made improvements to the combustion of the furnace but the majority of the investment went into improvements in the cold-end.” These include a new conveyor system which enables smooth transition of the bottles through the improved inspection facilities.
