Construction fair BAU 2005 in Munich, Germany from 17 – 22 January 2004 will feature “Visions of Glass“, a special display in a fully restyled exhibition hall. Ten thousand square metres of space in Hall C1 are devoted to the latest developments and products in the field of glass and glass architecture. Furthermore, the GlasKon Congress will be integrated into BAU for the first time and will take place in the midst of the fair. Hall C1, the venue for “Visions of Glass“, will be a real highlight at BAU 2005 according to the organizers, with a broad “glass boulevard“ flanked on either side by the stands of market and innovation leaders including Glas Trsch, Interpane, Isolar, Okalux, Pilkington, Saint-Gobain and Schott. Exhibitors are aiming to attract architects, construction engineers, faade planners, faade construction companies, glass manufacturers, glass processors, metal-construction firms, and manufacturers and designers of sealing and insulation materials. The “glass boulevard“ leads directly to an extensive forum at which the GlasKon Congress will take place on the first two days of the fair, putting the congress center stage at BAU for the first time. Experts from across Europe will be gathering to discuss innovations in architectural glass. Seminars will be given in German or English, with simultaneous translation. Erich Trsch, President of the Board of Glas Trsch AG, said of the forthcoming event: “For Glas Trsch BAU 2005 in Munich is a key event in the European glass market … “Visions of Glass“ offers an ideal communication platform for underlining the strengths and capabilities of the Glas Trsch Group in face-to-face talks.” Bernd Kramer, Chairman of Interpane Glas Industrie AG welcomed the fact that “glass will now have its own exhibition hall at the Munich trade fair”, adding that the firm would be taking a prominent position to display its products, particularly in the area of solar glass and thermally insulating glass. Stefanie Ebbers, Marketing Communication for Fire-Resistant Glass, Pilkington Deutschland AG said that BAU was “one of the most important construction fairs in Europe” for the company. “With the setting up of a separate exhibition hall for the material glass, we, as global producers of standard and fire-resistant glass, will have greater opportunity to show visitors from our target groups the many and varied applications for this material”. The opening ceremony of BAU 2005 will also be held at the congress forum in Hall C1. Following the official opening, VIP guests from politics and the construction industry will then tour the exhibition halls.
