By buying Vilesa, Portugal“s Barbosa e Almeida has become the Iberian peninsula“s second largest glass producer with a 20% market share, according to a recent report. France“s Saint-Gobain has a 40% market share and leads the European market. Barbosa“s bid for Vilesa has raised its profile in Spain. It was the first hostile bid to have met with success in the country, the report said. Over 65% of Barbosa“s sales will now be generated in Spain.
