Portuguese glassmaker Barbosa & Almeida has won control of Spanish glass producer Vidriera Leonesa (Vilesa) via a public share offering, it told Spain“s securities market commission CNMV recently. A unit fully owned by Barbosa bought 5.67 million of a total 10.45 million shares targeted, or 54.29% of Vilesa“s total capital, the statement said. Barbosa had offered Euros 14.5 per share, following which shares were split three-for-one. In total, Barbosa will thus pay around Euros 27.4 million for its stake.
