30 October 1997: The US labelling technology company Avery Dennison Corp. recently announced that Robert M. Calderoni, 37, has been appointed senior vice president, Finance, and chief financial officer, as of 29 October 1997. Calderoni, who will be based at the company“s corporate headquarters in Pasadena, will report to both Charles D. Miller, chairman and chief executive officer, and Philip M. Neal, president and chief operating officer. Calderoni, previously with Apple Computer, Inc., will be responsible for directing and monitoring all corporate financial activities for Avery Dennison, including financial planning, treasury and controller functions, as well as accounting, tax, MIS and internal auditing. Avery Dennison Corp. also announced that Lynne M. Galligan, 47, has joined the company in the newly created position of vice president, Technical Strategic Initiatives, and chief technology officer. Galligan will report to Kim A. Caldwell, executive vice president, Global Technology and New Business Development, and is based at the company“s corporate headquarters. Avery Dennison say that Galligan will lead its global new product and technology development efforts, focusing on the creation of proprietary technologies and new product innovations, in support of the corporation“s strategy to create dynamic, technology-driven new business growth. Galligan joins Avery Dennison from General Electric Co. in New York, where she served as technical director.
