A study by the Public Health Association of Australia has found that every three days an Australian visits a hospital casualty department with injuries from glass furniture. The Public Health Association of Australia said 25 September 2005 that manufacturers needed guidelines to reduce injuries. The Monash University Accident Research Centre told the PHAA“s conference in Perth that from 1996 to 2004 more than 1200 Australians went to hospital with injuries related to glass furniture-.
