A virtual organizational meeting for a new ASTM International activity on solar glass will be held on Tuesday, 29 September 2009, at 1:00 p.m. EDT. Representatives from the US Department of Energy (DOE), ASTM International Committee E44 on Solar, Geothermal, and Other Energy Sources, and ASTM International Committee C14 on Glass and Glass Products will be among the meeting participants. Potential standards topics to be discussed include: o Glass rating for withstanding acid rain; o Photovoltaic applications; o Coatings; o Durability; and o Solar hot water and heating systems.
