Indonesian safety and flat-glass manufacturer PT Asahimas Flat Glass said 31 October 2007 that its net profit in the first nine months of the year rose more than 38-fold, supported by stronger sales. The company posted net profit of IDR 97.13 billion against IDR 2.49 billion the year before. Sales rose 19.5% to IDR 1.35 trillion. Operating profit was up 17-fold to IDR 169.48 billion. Japan“s Asahi Glass Co Ltd owns a 43.85% stake in Asahimas.
