Indonesian flat glass producer PT Asahimas Flat Glass has posted a net profit of IDR 126.24 billion in 2001, a sharp increase over a loss of IDR 23.47 billion in 2001. The company management said in its financial report that the company recorded significant improvement in operations contributing to its profit. In addition, its interest cost decreased to IDR 50.38 billion from IDR 75.5 billion and foreign exchange loss drcreased to IDR 78.54 billion from IDR 250.95 billion. Its net sales rose 19.44% to IDR 1,029 billion and its operating profit increased 6.08% to IDR 291.62 billion.
