Asahi India Glass Ltd (AIGL) reported a net profit of INR 202.8 million for the quarter ended 31 March 2004 compared to INR 59 million for the year-ago period. Total income (net of excise) for the quarter ended 31 March 2004 stood at INR 1.3988 billion (INR 586 million). For the year-ended 31 March 2004, AIGL registered a net profit of INR 717.5 million (INR 376.7 million) on a total income of INR 5.047 billion (INR 4.0899 billion). The board of directors has recommended a dividend of INR 2.25 (225%) per equity share of INR 1 each for the financial year 2003-04. The board also approved the setting up of a subsidiary company in the architectural glass value chain.
