Russia“s AGC Bor Glassworks, a unit of Japan“s Asahi Glass Company, plans to suspend production of auto glass from 20 December 2008 due to its customers“ debts, Igor Sazonov, the Nizhny Novgorod Region“s deputy industry minister, said 2 December 2008. The combined debt of Bor Glasswork“s customers amounts to RUR 528 million. In particular, automaker AvtoVAZ has a total debt of approximately RUR 200 million, while the debt of the Gorky Automobile Plant of Russian automaker GAZ Group amounts to RUR 86 million, Mr. Sazonov said at a meeting of the regional government. In additional to auto glass, AGC Bor Glassworks produces polished glass. AGC Bor Glassworks, also known as AGC Borsky Stekolny Zavod, is located in the town of Bor in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
