Asahi Fiber Glass will concentrate on improving the competitivity of its glass-wool (short-glass fiber) business, after selling its long-glass fiber business to Owens Corning. The wholly-owned Asahi Glass subsidiary plans to review the quality and cost of its glass wool for greater customer satisfaction, and develop advanced products such as formalin-free heat-insulating and damp-proofing material. The company expects to receive orders for its highly transparent polycarbonate compound, made through combination with special glass fibers. It will also promote marketing of AF board, its formed-plastic product which is sandwiched between aluminum foil.
