Asahi Glass, Japan“s largest glassmaker, said on 29 March that it would extend the offer period for the takeover of Belgian peer Glaverbel to April 5 due to the Easter holidays. Asahi, which already owns 55% of Glaverbel, announced in December it would make a tender offer of EUR 145 per share for the company in a EUR 470 million deal. The offer on ordinary shares, convertible bonds and stock options started on 18 March and was originally due to finish on 2 April.
