Stained glass design and production company The Art of Glass, based in Solihull, central England, has opened a second workshop at Hatton Country World, near the city of Warwick, England. The company supplies both the domestic and export markets, crafting stained glass for domestic, public and ecclesiastical commissions. “We wanted a second place where we could concentrate on getting quality domestic work; it is going to go crazy because Hatton is a well visited place ” we are getting orders already,” said business partner Jim Scanlon. The Art of Glass uses high-quality English mouth-blown glass to give depth and tonal quality which, says Scanlon, cannot be found in mass-produced glass. The company is also looking to expand on foreign markets. “We are building our export business, especially in the United States,” said fellow business partner Robert Paddock, a master glass painter. “We have our work on display in designs centres in Washington and Chicago, and Japan.”
