Waste heat from the Ardagh glass plant in Limmared is to be used for district heating in the Swedish municipality of Tranemo. The heat will be piped from the Ardagh plant to the Eon-owned and Rrvik Timber-operated district heating plant in Tranemo. The goal is to start construction of the pipeline in autumn 2008. The project is worth about SEK 30 million (USD 4.73 million/EUR 3.22 million) and the Swedish Environmental Protection agency (Naturvrdsverket) has awarded the project a SEK 4 million grant.
