Ardagh Glass Group plc, one of Europe“s leading glass container manufacturers, has announced the formation of a new division to support the development of its specialist glass technology, engineering and mould manufacturing activities. Ardagh Glass Engineering Group will include the non container glass manufacturing companies of the existing group namely; Heye International (Germany), Heye FFS (Poland), SFO (Germany), FUP (Poland), and the mould making activities in Poland and the UK. The combined turnover of these activities is in the region of EUR 95 million, with a total workforce of over 600 employees. The companies will continue to trade under their existing names. The creation of this separate engineering entity will afford these businesses greater commercial and operational focus. The strategy will be to profitably grow these engineering businesses through further intra-group and external sales development. Mr. David Wall, who has been appointed as Chief Executive of the new organisation commented, “The new structure will create two distinct entities within Ardagh Glass; glass container manufacturing and glass technology activities, both of whom have world recognition. The formation of the new Engineering Group will bring greater focus and synergy for these activities, better utilising the Group“s experience and expertise in all areas of glass container technology”. Heye International (Germany) specialises in the development and installation of leading edge production equipment and facilities for the world-wide glass container industry. FUP (Poland), specialises in the manufacture of machine parts. Heye FFS (Poland), specialises in the production of mould castings and in mould manufacturing. SFO (Germany) specialises in mould manufacturing.
