Crystalware, glassware and cookware giant Arc International, which owns brands such as Luminarc and Crystal d“Arques, announced that the company is to open a subsidiary in India. “We are in the process of setting up a fully-owned subsidiary in India and it will be headquartered in New Delhi,” Arc International country head, Marc Hubered Ibled said. “I think by next month we will complete the subsidiary formation formalities,” he added. The plan to set up a office in the country comes as the company foresees considerable business potential in India. Arc products have been sold in the country since 1996 through East Coast Distributors. Hubered said the company was also open to have a manufacturing facility in India if business in the country grows to around USD 30-40 million. “Unless we reach a turnover of USD 40 million, having a manufacturing facility does not make commercial sense. The present turnover is USD 10 million in India,” the French Aec official said. Arc International has manufacturing facilities in France, Spain, the US, Dubai, China and Italy. Meanwhile, the company said it has developed six new shapes and patterns for India, and also launched two sets of dinnerware.
