The American beer giant Anheuser-Bush has started recruiting glass workers for the Jacinto City factory which it is planning to re-open next June according to Emballages Magazine. The group has already invested close to US$ 80 million in order to renovate the factory, which closed down four years ago, when it belonged to Anchor Glass. The Anheuser-Bush subsidiary, Longhorn Glass, in charge of these operations, should be engaging 150 local people to manufacture brown “long necked” beer bottles. The glass works will supply the Anheuser-Bush brewery located at Houston, in operation since 1966. “It will come on stream soon and will help us satisfy the increasing demand for bottled beers from the region,” explained Joseph Goltzman, vice-president of the Anheuser-Bush Companies.
