The US firm Anchor Glass Container Corp. announced in December that it has installed a gas-reburn system for nitrogen oxide emission control at its Californian glass facility. The system has shown its capability to lessen NOx emissions by about 60% in full-scale demonstrations. The new system has reportedly reduced emissions at the glass plant to under the new local requirement of 5.5 pounds per ton of glass from previous emission levels of eight to ten pounds per ton. The system was developed by the Californian firm, Energy and Environmental Research Corp.
