The management board of Turkish glass containers manufacturer Anadolu Cam, part of Turkish glass conglomerate Sisecam, decided on 11 June 2003 to invest USD 32 million (EUR 27.2 million) in the installation of a third furnace at its Russian subsidiary Ruscam. The third Ruscam furnace will raise the company“s annual capacity to 340,000 tonnes of glass products from the current 200,000 tonnes. Anadolu Cam invested USD 48 million (EUR 40.8 million ) in a second furnace at Ruscam, which took capacity up to 700 million bottles per year. The investment was 50 % financed through a loan from the World Bank“s private sector arm International Finance Corporation (IFC). Anadolu Cam makes returnable and non-returnable bottles for beverages, bottles for cosmetics, and pharmaceutical and food containers.
